Garlic Chicken Pasta

My Garlic Chicken Pasta is an age old recipe I made up back in my college days (hehe I know super old), its easy, filling and yummy.  Perfect for a college student without a meal plan and still perfect for my more adult days which are always guaranteed to be hectic!

If you dont like garlic....well 1. Your crazy (just kidding of course but really?) and 2. This is definitely not the recipe for you because its pretty much centered around the good stuff.

mmmm such a simple concept yet so yummy, now here's how its done:

Party People T-Shirts

My last post was about Bride & Bridesmaid Sashes that I made for a friend's bachelorette party.  I also was tasked with making t-shirts for everyone as well.  Yes I could have ordered some Bride and BM t-shirts online and made my life easier but NOPE I really wanted them to be custom for Shelly's bach.  Having 4 custom t-shirts made up would have been $30 a pop, I knew there had to be a way to do this cheaper considering blank t-shirts at Michaels are like $2.99!

I actually think they turned out AWESOME - but lets see what you all think :)

We even got stopped in Vegas and asked where we bought them.  When the bride told the girl that I made them she was in SHOCK.  Yey!!

Sassy Satin Sashes

This weekend I am off to Vegas for one of my close friends Bachelorette parties, yey! I am in the wedding which is in May.  The other bridesmaids and I wanted to do lots of special things for the bride this weekend and I knew it was a perfect opportunity to use my craft skills to whip up some fun stuff!!

A bachelorette party isnt complete without sashes pointing out who everyone is, but the ones they sell in the store first of all are huge (my own was literally falling off me my entire bach party) and they are just pretty standard.  I figured I could buy some fabric, do a little fabric painting and whip up some pretty awesome custom ones.

I am really happy with how they came out, I hope the bride is too!  Now you could make these sashes for so many things other then a bachelorette party like - halloween costumes, birthday party, mother-to-be for a baby shower, or princess for a day for a little girl would be super cute!!

Changeable Cork Centerpiece

When we moved into our new place in Austin we splurged on an awesome dining room table and chairs. Ahh I am obsessed! This one was much bigger/nicer/sturdier/long lasting/etc/etc than the one we had back in DC. So immediately I really wanted to get (make) a nice casual centerpiece for it that we could use year round.

If you know me and the hubs at all you know we loooove our wine, so I figured something wine themed would be appropriate, and I came up with this:

Longhorn Car Decals

Since moving to Austin our cars have been feeling a little...well left out.  See here in ATX almost every car is sporting a longhorn logo.  Something similar to this
But they are like $16 each at the campus store! Thats like $32 to get one for both our cars....I think thats a bit steep for car decals.  So I figured pssshhhh I could make something! I had some adhesive vinyl on hand that I figured I could cut using my cricut machine.

Crayon Roll for a Cute Cousin

This week I was sending a baby blanket to one of my cousins who just had a baby boy. But I couldn't leave his big sis empty handed! I had seen this great tutorial for a crayon roll on Prudent Baby and thought that would be the perfect thing for his big sis (she is about 3). Paired with a little coloring book and its suuuuper cute.  I really hope she loves it!

Wanna know how to make one for your own cute cousin/niece/nephew/anyone?

St. Patricks Day Yarn Wreath

Countdown to St. Patricks Day ~ 19 days!!!

I love St. Patricks Day,  maybe its because I am super Irish (I am even a citizen of Ireland) or maybe its because its just a jolly holiday where you get to drink green beer and eat green bagels.  I am a little ashamed to say I have never had a Shamrock Shake at McDonalds that people seem to rave so much about, thats definitely on my to-do list for the next 19 days.

One of my Fav pics of Ireland I took a couple trips ago*
 * Yup you read that right I have been to Ireland approximately 7 times now, I kinda lost count.  But I have the most amazing family over there and I miss them lots so I love to go visit.  If you have never been to Ireland I would highly recommend a trip, its literally the most beautiful place I can imagine.

Anyway I wanted our front door to reflect my love of all things Irish and I guess I have been into making wreaths lately so I decided to make a St. Pat's themed one.  I ended up with this little gem:

Sinful Molten Lava Cakes

This past week my inlaws have been in town.  Yesterday was their last night here so the hubs and I though we would cook a nice meal for them instead of going out to eat again, which can get old for almost a week!  For dessert I had 2 options: 1. My old faithful Chocolate Mousse - which dont get me wrong is ah-ma-zing, BUT I have made it many times and I was feeling adventurous which brought me to option 2. Chocolate Molton Lava Cakes - now that would be a challenge.  I always loooove Lava Cake when I get it at restaurants and wonder how do they get the outside so perfectly cakey and the inside so perfectly lavaey?

I cant take full credit for the recipe - I got it over at Pioneer Woman (who I seriously <3 by the way!) who got it from Tasty Kitchen (another awesome place to browse when you have some time).  I did switch up the serving a little bit though.  Here is a lil sneaky peak at the finished product:

Heaven on a Plate
Now don't all come through the computer at once to eat it :) Haha I was very proud of myself though because they did turn out delish!

Professor Plum in the Thrift Store with the Candlestick

I solved it!! Well not the Clue game but the mystery of how to make some real ugly candlesticks fun!

On a recent trip the the Salvation Army store I found these rather sad and ugly looking candlesticks

Hideous right? Well I figured for $1.99 I would bring them home and hopefully give them a much needed makeover.

Simple & Super Soft Baby Blanket

One of my Mom's best friends, Anne, just welcomed her first grandchild into the world.  A beautiful baby girl! Anne and her husband Bob are just the greatest people, they have always been so supportive of not only my mom but me.  Anne even helped to plan & run my bridal shower with my mom.  So I really wanted to do something nice for them in this super exciting time. I figured baby blankets are so fabulous, they get dirty easily so you can never really have enough to swap out while another is washing.  Plus Anne & Bob's son, daughter-in-law and now granddaughter all live in Norway! So when they come over to visit I am positive they are not going to want to shelp everything.  I figure this way they can have a sweet little baby blanket on hand when they come to visit, one less thing to pack.

Here is a sneak peak at the finished product:

Week Night Chicken Stir Fry

I am very proud of myself today because I made a yummy, pretty healthy, quick and completly original meal last night. You see what I make is usually a combination of a whole bunch of recipes I find out on the internet, take a little from each and put it all togather. Well last night was more of a hmmmm we have these few ingredients in the house how can I make something out of them? Lets just say that could have been a disaster but low and behold it was one of my most favorite meals, amazing! So I wanted to share the receipe, especially since its super easy for a week night meal.

I really wanted to use Sriracha sauce because I love it and I have never really cooked with it before persay, its so yummy! So here is the deets:

Easy Valentine's Wreath

Ok sooo...I know I have been a very very bad blogger and was supposed to start this in October, but I am going to try to be better now and keep my posts coming.

For this post I am going to do a little valentines day wreath tutorial!
